Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using Decipler, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use Decipler for another person or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for them.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may use Decipler only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian who permits use is responsible for supervising that use. Local law may require a higher minimum age or additional consent.

3. What Decipler provides

Decipler offers digital-boundary tools, category and custom-domain blocking, journals, activity insights, accountability approvals, recovery-resource links, community posts, direct messages, and SOS-oriented support shortcuts. Feature availability varies by platform. System-wide website protection is currently intended for supported Android and Windows configurations; the web and iOS experiences have more limited capabilities.

We may add, change, suspend, or remove beta features. We do not guarantee that every site, browser, app, category, network, or workaround will be detected or blocked.

4. Not medical or emergency care

Decipler does not provide medical diagnosis, therapy, crisis response, legal advice, or professional treatment. Information, prompts, hotlines, and external resources are provided for general support and may change or become unavailable. Always verify urgent contact information independently.

If you or another person may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service now. Do not wait for a Decipler notification, message, approval, or response.

5. Accounts and security

• Provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably current.
• Keep your password, device, email account, and session secure. Do not share verification codes or credentials.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
• Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

Google Sign-In is provided through Google and is also subject to Google's applicable terms. You may use email and password authentication where available.

6. Device permissions and protection changes

Android protection requires your approval of a local VPN interface. Windows protection may require administrator permission to update the system hosts file and may run from the system tray or at startup when you enable those options. You authorize Decipler to make the device changes you explicitly request. You are responsible for confirming that protection is active and appropriate for your device.

Do not install Decipler on a device you do not own or control, or monitor another person, without lawful authority and their informed permission where required.

7. Community and messaging rules

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Decipler a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. Community posts and comments are visible to other users; direct messages are intended for their participants.

You must not:

• harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, or expose another person's private information;
• encourage self-harm, violence, illegal activity, gambling, substance misuse, or evasion of safeguards;
• post sexual content involving minors or any unlawful, abusive, or non-consensual content;
• send spam, scams, malware, commercial solicitation, or deceptive links;
• attempt to access another account, disrupt the service, scrape users, or bypass security controls; or
• upload content you do not have the right to use.

We may remove content, restrict features, preserve relevant records, or suspend accounts when reasonably necessary for safety, law, service integrity, or enforcement. Because the service is in beta, moderation may not be immediate. Do not use community or direct messages for emergencies.

8. Public beta and updates

The service is provided as a public beta. It may contain bugs, incomplete features, interruptions, compatibility problems, or data loss. Back up information you cannot afford to lose and keep other safeguards in place. Download installers only from decipler.com or the official Decipler GitHub release linked there.

Updates may be needed for security or compatibility. We may stop supporting older versions. You are responsible for reviewing release and installation notices before updating.

9. Third-party services and links

Decipler uses or links to third-party services such as Google, Cloudflare, Railway, GitHub, recovery organizations, and hotline providers. We do not control external content, availability, security, or policies. A link is not a guarantee or professional endorsement. Your use of third-party services may be governed by separate terms.

10. Voluntary support

Any support for Decipler development is voluntary, does not unlock features or preferential treatment, and is not represented as a charitable or tax-deductible donation. Confirm support instructions through the contact information published on decipler.com. Never send a password, OTP, or MPIN.

11. Decipler materials

Except for user content and third-party materials, the service, branding, interface, software, and documentation are owned by or licensed to Decipler Project and are protected by applicable law. These terms permit personal, non-exclusive, revocable use of the service. They do not transfer ownership or permit resale, deceptive copying, or unauthorized commercial exploitation.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Decipler at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access when you materially breach these terms, create risk or harm, misuse the service, or when necessary to comply with law or protect the service. Where reasonable, we will provide notice or an opportunity to appeal through the support email.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Decipler is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, fully secure, or effective for every user or situation. Blocking controls can be disabled, bypassed, or affected by device, browser, DNS, network, operating-system, or third-party changes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Decipler Project will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of or inability to use the beta. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other non-waivable obligations.

14. Your responsibility for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for claims, losses, or expenses resulting from your unlawful use of Decipler, your violation of another person's rights, or content you submit in breach of these terms. This provision does not apply where the claim was caused by Decipler's own unlawful conduct.

15. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by applicable law, without limiting mandatory consumer or data-protection rights that apply to you. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Nothing here prevents you from contacting a regulator or seeking urgent legal relief.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Decipler changes. Material updates will be posted with a revised effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. If you continue using the service after updated terms take effect, you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
